Sustainable Infrastructure Development Symposium South Africa 2024

The Sustainable Development Symposium South Africa is currently underway in Century City, Cape Town under the theme “Quality infrastructure for development, recovery and inclusive growth.” This platform has seen critical role-players in the infrastructure investment space galvanised around a key goal of accelerating an infrastructure-led economic recovery plan.
We look forward to seeing the outcomes of this engagement as the symposium ends this afternoon. Some of the highlights of the past two days include the announcement by the Honourable Minister Sihle Zikalala that there has been 113 major active projects since 2020 which attracted a total investment of R2.4 Trillion. R1.3 trillion of this amount has been invested in the energy sector and R517 billion allocated to transport and logistics projects.
Minister Zikalala implored attendees to remember the symposium as one that catalysed and mobilized the private sector to invest in public infrastructure projects for the growth and benefit of the country and its people. Dube TradePort Special Economic Zone in partnership with SAIBPP will be sponsoring our bursary competition that aims to award two bursaries on the night of the Presidents Fundraising Dinner to be held on the 4th of April 2024. This competition is open to students studying in any university or institution of higher learning in the Kwa-Zulu Natal province.
The adjudication panel responsible for reviewing the applications will be the Patrons of the Property Academy. These individuals are credible industry leaders who possess extensive knowledge and experience in the property sector. Their expertise ensures a fair and thorough assessment of the applicants. This bursary competition offers an excellent opportunity for students to receive financial support for their education.
